Nepal is a landlocked country, located between India and China with a population of 29 million people (Central Intelligence Agency, 2016). It is a rectangular shaped country that has an area of 147,181 km2 (Central Intelligence Agency, 2016). The terai, hill, and mountain region make up Nepal’s landscape (USAID, 2011). Agriculture accounts for 21% of the land and employs 66% of the population of Nepal (USAID, 2011). Since agriculture accounts for 36% of Nepal’s GDP, it is a major contributor to the country’s economic development (USAID, 2016). The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu, with a population of 1.1 million (Central Intelligence Agency, 2016).
www.saknepal.org, is a program dedicated to the contribution of various different export ideas to Nepal to benefit their livelihood, economy, etc. By exporting items from Canada to Nepal, not only is it helping the Nepalese but also Canadians.
